NEW ZEALAND MASTERS GAMES TERMS & CONDITIONS

By registering for or attending the 2027 Downer New Zealand Masters Games, you confirm that you understand and accept these Terms & Conditions.

References to “New Zealand Masters Games”, “NZMG”, “we”, “our”, and “organisers” in these Terms & Conditions refer to the official host organisation responsible for delivering the 2027 Downer New Zealand Masters Games under franchise from New Zealand Masters Games Limited.

 

Eligibility and Registration

  • You must be at least 20 years old to register for the Games and meet the minimum age specified for any sport you wish to enter by the required date.
  • Supporter and One-Night-Only passes are available for people aged 18 years and over.
  • Non-Playing Officials may be under 18 years old but are not permitted to attend the Games Village during R18 hours, which operate nightly from 6pm onwards.
  • Registration and applicable sports entry fees must be paid online via the official Games registration platform using approved payment methods. Cash payments are not accepted. You can read our payment partner’s Privacy Policy here.
  • Registration and any applicable sports entry fees are non-transferable.

Accreditation and Check-In

You must check in personally at the official Games Check-In Centre to collect your Games Village Wayver Pass, which also functions as a cashless payment card linked to your registration profile.

Your Wayver Pass is your proof of registration for the Games and must be presented when requested, including for entry to the Games Village during controlled access periods. Sport Partners may request to sight your Wayver Pass before participation.

Participants are responsible for keeping their Wayver Pass secure. Lost or damaged passes may incur a replacement fee.

Welcome Pack

As part of NZMG’s commitment to reducing our environmental footprint, messenger bags included as part of the Welcome Pack are ordered based on anticipated registration numbers and are available in limited quantities. Messenger bags are provided only to registered sport participants who request one during registration, while stocks last. If demand exceeds available stock, additional bags, substitute products or other forms of compensation cannot be provided.  

Participation and Health & Safety

Before entering any sport or activity, you must consider the physical demands and potential Health & Safety risks involved, including environmental conditions. Only participate in events where you are confident you can safely compete. Information about each sport is available at NZMG.com/our-sports

Participation is at your own risk. New Zealand Masters Games, Sport Partners, volunteers, sponsors, venues, and affiliated organisations are not liable for any injury, illness, loss, damage, or personal expense incurred during the Games.

Registration and sports entry fees do not include medical, travel, or personal insurance. Participants are responsible for arranging their own insurance where required.

You must comply with all sport rules, venue requirements, Health & Safety obligations, and organiser instructions always. Unless medically prescribed, prohibited or performance-enhancing substances are not permitted.

Conduct and Behaviour

Participants and attendees are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly at all Games venues and activities.

Anti-social, unsafe, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, intoxicated, or disruptive behaviour may result in removal from venues, disqualification from the Games, cancellation of registration, or trespass notices.

Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry or participation where behaviour is considered inconsistent with the values, safety requirements, or operational expectations of the Games.

Event Changes and Cancellations

Organisers reserve the right to alter sports schedules, venues, formats, dates, or times if required due to weather, venue availability, safety concerns, minimum entry numbers, or unforeseen circumstances.

Organisers are not liable for losses, expenses, or inconvenience arising from event changes, postponements, or cancellations.

Media, Photography and Promotional Use

By registering for or attending the Games, you consent to photographs, video, livestream, audio recordings, interviews, and other media content featuring you being captured during Games activities, sport events, and Games Village operations.

These materials may be used by New Zealand Masters Games, host organisations, sponsors, partners, media organisations, and affiliated promotional channels for marketing, promotional, editorial, reporting, archival, and future event purposes without compensation or further approval.

This includes use across digital platforms, websites, social media, livestreams, printed materials, advertising, broadcast media, and future Games promotions.

Communications and Marketing

By registering, you consent to receiving Games-related communications and operational updates.

You may opt out of promotional marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe function provided in electronic communications.

Compliance

You must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, venue requirements, licensing conditions, and Health & Safety obligations during the Games.
