30-34 (then 5-year increments) to 85+
Minimum age 30+ men and women as at first day of competition
Notes:
- This walking race is recreational and therefore not judged under Athletics NZ Rules
- Particpants however MUST NOT RUN. This means that one foot must be in contact wtih the ground at all times
- The race officials rely on the integrity of all competitors that they will walk the whole distance. Any participants observed running by a race marshal or race official will be precluded from winning
- Walking race is on Harbourside Walkway/Cycleway which is mainly flat
- All athletes, officials and helpers must agree to Athletics Otago’s Indemnity policy when entering
