300 days to go until our 30th Birthday - and you're all invited!
Games News
We're just 300 days away from our 30th Birthday! In 2019, New Zealand's largest multi-sport event celebrates it's 30th Anniversary in Whanganui, and sport lovers from all over the world are invited to join the thousands of locals to celebrate this milestone with us! The New Zealand Masters Games are open to anyone as long as you meet the minimum age for your chosen sport (usually around 30 years of age!). There are no qualifying standards to participate, just a healthy appetite for fun, trying new sports and enjoying the social element Masters Games are renowned for.

Whanganui looks forward to welcoming you to a spectacular celebration of 9 days of Masters Sports and 10 nights of entertainment at the Games Village, right in the heart of Whanganui's CBD.

Whanganui 2019 marks a significant milestone, as the event celebrates its 30th Anniversary and secures its space in history as the longest running Masters multi-sport event in Australasia, second only to Tasmania (1987)

The team is planning a spectacular celebration worthy of this milestone and we need you to help us deliver a successful Games that celebrates and showcases our city, and leaves a legacy for both the sports and our community.

We'd love to hear from anyone who would like to get involved with the 2019 New Zealand Masters Games and welcome your Expressions of Interest!

Without the passionate involvement of the volunteers who freely give their valuable time to support the delivery of the New Zealand Masters Games, this iconic event simply could not run.
Our Games Hosts will be made of the stuff of legends - you're not afraid to 'go the extra mile', you'll have that strong Kiwi 'can do' positive attitude and you'll be an outstanding ambassador for the New Zealand Masters Games and Whanganui!

In addition to our Games Hosts roles, we can offer internships in a range of different departments including Marketing, Operations and Registrations.
